How we need to prepare

Global Village Construction Set

A group of people are working on modular tools that can help build a small modern village. They intention is for these tools to be built by communities as a start towards building a modern village in the third world.

Making these tools is 8 times cheaper than buying the equivalent tools from manufacturers and the group is making the plans for these tools available on the net for anyone to access as they are developed.

The Open Source Ecology site, Global Village Construction Set, contains the full set of plans and the supporting documentation for what is available currently. It must be worth downloading these as start a just in case. After all after a survival situation when we start to pull our society together we would be in a third world situation. These tools could help us rebuild quicker. That along must be worth storing the plans for. Many of the products would be on a list of what we would need to build anyway. Obviously in a survival situation one issue for most of us would be manpower but further down the line communities with their additional manpower would benefit from these plans.

A worthwhile project and one worth watching.
