A harsh reality

Now, in a way, by advocating preparedness we are supporting the idea that we will leave some people to die while we live on our stores. I justify that in my mind by comparing it with house insurance, keeping your car serviced and checking the freezer is powered. Not everyone does and they pay for their short sightedness. We don’t buy them new houses, pay to service their cars or refill their freezers. It is not like we keep everything quiet, we talk about survival and preparedness and they call us nutters and tin foil hat wearers. We can’t look after everyone else and nor should we, we cannot afford to. In this way it is different to someone going out and stealing food and water from other desperate people. We are not stealing just being responsible and planning ahead unlike the bulk of the sheeple.

Others will not be so kind, the state call it hoarding, and believe that we should be forced, at gunpoint, to give what we have spent our own money and time on to those who couldn’t be bothered, spent what they had on whatever they wanted and have spent nothing on preparing for the future. This drives us underground and means we have to keep what we do secret or risk wasting our time. The state is generous with other people’s money, time and effort.

In nature there is no such benevolence. Creatures, including humans, prepare or die. If we did not store food throughout the growing months we would starve as a species. Nobody is going to come and help and nobody is going to care one bit if someone starves. It happens all the time in our society, thousands of OAPS freeze to death every year because the turned the heating down just a bit too much. Nobody really cares, we just ignore it and carry on with our lives, living in our own little bubble and looking the other way. If it is pointed out we make all the right noises and say something must be done but we do nothing ourselves. In our society most actually believe the state should do something as they cannot be bothered and yet want a clear conscience. We walk past homeless people in the gutters, poor people who don’t have anything starve all the time and worldwide this accounts for hundreds of millions of people. We just cannot help them all. It is impossible but most still think the state should do something while they do nothing. Yet, if the same people who sneer at homeless and hungry people in the West were to suddenly find themselves in the same situation then they think they have the right to take it from those that have what they want.

I do what I can but it will be impossible for us to feed everyone after an event and so a long time ago I decided I was going to do several things;

• Prepare my family for an event
• Keep my preparations head down and off the radar
• Help other people prepare
• Make people aware of what preparation was about

After an event;

• Help those that didn’t prepare only when it suits and I can

By the last I mean with no threat to me or mine and especially if there are children involved.

I’m happy in my mind that I have done what I can. I’ll be happy with myself, although unhappy in person, when people around me die. I will still have a clear conscience after that and will be able to hold my head up if I have to justify it to any diety in this life or the next.

You should do the same. Accept what you are doing is morally right and try and help others as well. Remember at no time must you compromise yourself. Accept that is will be heart rendering but that is nature at its worse. Cruel and heartless. You are not.

Consider what nature is like;

The squirrel works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building and improving his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks he’s a fool, and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.

Come winter, the squirrel is warm and well fed. The shivering grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

Consider what they are advocating;

A social worker finds the shivering grasshopper, calls a press conference and demands to know why the squirrel should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others less fortunate, like the grasshopper, are cold and starving.

All the lefty networks show up to provide live coverage of the shivering grasshopper; with cuts to a video of the squirrel in his comfortable warm home with a table laden with food.

The press informs people that they should be ashamed that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so while others have plenty.

MPs, Greenpeace, Animal Rights and The Grasshopper Housing Commission demonstrate in front of the squirrel’s house.

All the lefty networks, interrupting a cultural festival special from St Kilda with breaking news, broadcasts a multi cultural choir singing ‘We Shall Overcome’.

Gordon Brown rants in an interview with Cameron that the squirrel got rich off the backs of grasshoppers, and calls for an immediate tax hike on the squirrel to make him pay his ‘fair share’ and increases the charge for squirrels to enter the city centre.

In response to pressure from the media, the Government drafts the Economic Equity and Grasshopper Anti Discrimination Act, retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The squirrel’s taxes are reassessed. He is taken to court and fined for failing to hire grasshoppers as builders for the work he was doing on his home, and an additional fine for contempt when he told the court the grasshopper did not want to work.

The grasshopper is provided with a Housing Commission house, financial aid to furnish it and an account with a local taxi firm to ensure he can be socially mobile. The squirrel’s food is seized and re-distributed to the more needy members of society – in this case the grasshopper.

Without enough money to buy more food, to pay the fine and his newly imposed retroactive taxes, the squirrel has to leave his house and in the cold of winter starves and dies.

It is a hard world out there so consider these quotes;

This then raises the next issue. Could you stop someone just trying to keep their family from starving? Of course you could. What if they keep coming back and bringing others? Could you stop them permanently? Some will say No. I could under the circumstances above where it is me or them and I would also have a clear conscience too. Could you?

It is a fact that you can only do so much. Do what you can, accept that you cannot save everyone and what you may have to do to ensure survival for you and yours and live with a clear conscience.
