I have also considered keeping fish as I have a 100 Gal tank as well as two 30 gal tanks that I can use. The 100G tank was previously used for Marine fish and will be sufficient for a few fish as a starter for the future. I really want to keep some fish as I do see this as a valuable addition to my food production.
Although I can only keep a small amount of fish as a starter in the tanks I can expand after an event and I have catered for this by having some large swimming pools. I can move the fish into those pools from my starter when it is safe to do so.
I’m not clear on what is the best fish for me at the moment as there are several fish that can be kept in our climate without power but I can also consider fish that prefer some heat as with a little bit of insulation, some solar heating and solar panels we could widen the temperature range a little. It isn’t my preferred option because all it takes is a breakdown at a critical stage and your stock is gone. Perhaps worth considering if there is an option for two or more stocks.
I also see fish closely linked with Aquaponics which we will talk about later.
So I want to investigate the types of fish that I could easily keep inside for use in the 100G tank and an additional option for an outside container, a pond, swimming pool, barrel or similar.
At the very minimum I will keep some fish in the 100G internal tank.

I am looking to get carp feed on food scraps and animals, hardy and don’t require electricity to look after. i am looking at farming wroms and perhaps maybe crickets that can also eat scraps as a food source for the fish.
Hardest part is finding a source to purchase
